If you are reading this, you may have received one of my business cards. Yes, I'm the guy that gave it to you. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about DVJ Photo. I hope that after you read this page, you will be interested in scheduling a shoot.
Before you read on, I’m sure the biggest question you have is “How much is this going to cost me?”
Nothing but your time. Seriously!
There are no fees (hidden or otherwise), no costs and no obligations. This is not a scam. I will not ask for money, offer promises of a modeling career, or charge you $1000 for a Comp Card (trust me, it does happen). I am not an agent, I am not associated with any modeling agencies (so no kickbacks), and make no promises other than to take the best photos I can, for your personal or professional use.
To read up more on scams, you can visit http://www.modelingscams.org/ .
To learn about how I shoot, and my views on photography, you can read my Model Mayhem profile, or read the blog itself (click on the logo above). To see all of my posted work, visit the photos on my flickr photostream. You can also click on the slideshow to the right.
After visiting all the links, and my assurances that there are no hidden fees or tricks have not convinced you to shoot with me, thank you for your time, and best of luck in all your endeavors.
However, if you are interested, please read on to learn about the different types of photography I do and how to schedule a shoot.
Glamour/Beauty photography: Is sexy and erotic but not pornographic. Instead of focusing on nudity or lurid poses, glamour photography seeks to capture a subject in suggestive poses that emphasize curves and shadows. As the name implies, the goal of glamour photography is to depict the model in a glamorous light. Consequently, many glamour shots carry flirtatious, mysterious and playful tones. Examples can be found in “Maxim”, “FHM”, “Cosmopolitan”, “Glamour” and “GQ”. Majority of the photos I take are glamour.
Portraiture: One of the oldest types of photography. Whether the subject is family, friends, or your pet, the goal is to capture the personality of the subject or group of subjects. Holiday photos, candid shots, non-fashion photography, and most of the photos you see in magazines are prime examples. About 40% of the photos I take fall into this category.
Artistic photography: can embrace a wide variety of subjects. While a nature photographer may use underwater photography to create an art show based on sea life, a portrait photographer’s show may feature black and white artistic portraitures. In all cases, the photographs must have aesthetic value to be considered art. These account for the rest of the photos I take. Check out my “Art Set”, Black and White” and “What is Hipstamatic” series for my artistic work.
So, if you have made it this far, let’s talk about setting up a shoot.
The best way to set up a shoot is to email me at dvjphoto@yahoo.com. You can also email me any questions you may have, or to request a copy of my model release form. You can also call the number on the card. If I don’t answer, leave a message.
Thank you for reading this, and I look forward to talking with you very soon.
